NYC Public School Class Takes an Extented Cyber-Trip to Learning@Whitney.org

This blog was arranged to display the most recent topic posed to students (Is This the End?) first. Therefore, all of the issues we discussed and wrote about are organized here in reverse-chronological order. If you wish to see/read where we began, click on the April icon on the left side of this page. There, you may review our initial theme, Adopt a Work of Art, where we began our trip to Whitneyland.

Wednesday

Here is your place to be heard. And the Whitney online staff will listen. They (and I) would like you to keep track of any technical problems that you may encounter at the Learning @ Whitney website.
So, for example, if you clicked on a 'button' and the place (or area) of the website that it took you to, wasn't what you expected, or just didn't work at all, here's the place to SOUND OFF and be heard.

Additionally, if you read someone else's comments and you have advice for them, or have experienced something similar, let them know HERE.

This is an ongoing conversation between all of us, and we might learn something from YOU.

Thank you in advance for all you do!

Hello,

I would love to know what you like or don't like about the learning@whitney website...

and what other things you would like to see or do on the site.

Your comments will be very useful in helping us improve the site in the future.

thanks!

It would be good if u can add a register link in somewhere where people can see it easily. New people to the site might not be able to find the register link.

i think that this website about the whitney musuem should be shared with others because I think it's a great help to me and my fellow class mates. I dont think anything should be added to it because it's fine to me!

There aren't many problems with the site. Our computers are just slow. Your site is a wonderful way to see art.

I think this website is pretty good. There are some things that are pretty intresting on it. What I would like to be on it is more paintings. Otherwise, I like this site.

The only thing I would like to say to the people of the museum is that when I clicked something its really slow and I'm not sure if its my computer or the website. But other then that I really like the website.

I like the whitney website because I rather work on the computer than do the collages. Whitney website is cool, except I wish it had more paintings.

I think that this website is really interesting. I like how that you can watch a video on the painting that you choose. Student can learn more about this website when they explore it. It can be more interesting if they add more painting and activites.

i agree with most of my classmates.
The learning@whitney website is great, but it would be better if it had more pictures in the gallery.

While in LISTEN at the Whitney site, I clicked on the thumbnail of Ellsworth Kelly, Atlantic, 1956, and 'it' took me to Tony Oursler, Underwater Head, 1997 (i could barely see the image). How strange?

I also like that you can zoom into the paintings so you can see it more clearly it's really cool

well to me I like the website because it is very cool.People that make a website for others to use is very nice because it can help you with your home work or class work espically if you have a talent that has to do with art.

I think that the whitney website is a good website because it allows you to see works of art that you probally have never seen. There are not many problems its a good place for people who aren't interested in art to really begin to like art

I agree that the paintings and sculptures are amazing on the learning@whitney website. So far I like this website, its cool, because you can express your feelings about what you lke and dislike about either paintings or the website. This webstie can influence most students, by making or trying to draw a painting that a great artist has already made.

I think this is a ok web site. i think art work are ok becuase the art work has detail, so people could use their imagination more in the painting that you see in the Whitney Museum web site.

Hi Dina;

In Collecting Art, I have utilized the Compare and Contrast piece, and inputted images and text. Sadly, when I go to play the Powerpoint, nothing (in that section) happens.

I like the Whitney website because it is really clear. when you press on something that is what comes up. but one thing that took a very long time to do was to look at the video of a art work. besides that the website is good and easy to work with.

Double Isometric Self- Portrait by Jim Dine.
I think it's very easy to use the learning@whitney website. This is way more interesting than just reading a huge confusing book. There are many paintings that I think are very amazing like the Brooklyn Bridge by Joseph Stella. I wish the website can include more amazing painting and futher improve the website.
